AIME Student Volunteer Program
Interested in gaining work experience at a premier industry event?
The Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo (AIME) is the premier exhibition in the Southern Hemisphere for the meetings and incentives industry. This event showcases the best Australian, Asia Pacific and international destinations, products and services for meeting planners. AIME 2012 will be held on Tuesday 26 and Wednesday 27 February at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The AIME Student Volunteer Program is available to students currently undertaking tertiary studies in Tourism, Hospitality, Marketing and/or Event Management. The Student Work Experience Program enables students to work with the Melbourne Convention + Visitors Bureau (MCVB) and the world’s leading travel trade organiser, Reed Travel Exhibitions. Students can gain valuable industry experience over potentially four days by assisting with the coordinating and managing of a large exhibition.
Tasks may include:
• Assisting people with directions around the venue
• Distributing exhibition materials in the registration area
• Greeting/ushering people
• Monitoring educational session rooms
• Assisting in the exhibition area
Lunch is provided on both event days and there will be a break room available to students with refreshments. Work experience certificates will be issued after the exhibition and there will be prizes on offer for participating students.
Students who are interested in participating are required to send their expression of interest and return it to the AIME Student Work Experience Program Organiser Samuel Lee (firstname.lastname@example.org).
